Senior Cloud Security Engineer – Fintech – 100% Remote

THE ROLE 

Our client in the fintech space is looking for an expert Senior Cloud Security Engineer who will design, implement and operate defensive security controls across highly available, multi-cloud environments supporting critical digital platforms. If you’re looking to apply your understanding of modern threat landscapes, exploitation techniques and risk trade-offs to guide engineering teams on secure design decisions, while ensuring effective prioritisation and management of security controls then keep reading!

WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

Essential

• Strong proficiency working within Linux environments
• Ability to articulate and apply well-informed views on security practices, supported by hands-on experience and continuous learning
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes security, including experience working with complex, multi-cluster environments
• Strong knowledge of at least one major public cloud provider, including native security services and long-term hardening strategies
• Appreciation for robust engineering practices, with experience working in or alongside scalable software engineering environments
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota to support critical security tooling issues and assist with incident response when required

Desirable

• Interest in offensive security, with exposure to areas such as CTFs, penetration testing or red teaming
• Experience implementing security controls across multiple cloud and/or hybrid environments
• Ability to communicate security concepts effectively to engineering teams and stakeholders
• Experience contributing to threat modelling activities using structured methodologies
• Exposure to infrastructure and network security within data centre environments
• Awareness of supply chain and CI/CD security risks, with practical approaches to mitigating them
• Experience working with technologies such as Golang and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform)
